Our History
A brief history and general synopsis of Energy Support (UK) Ltd
Established in June 1993, this company has, since then, marketed insulation and convection panels - often known generically as "reflector panels". They are fitted to the wall behind Radiators.
In July 1999 we designed Radmate radiator panels which, having an extra narrow segment, easily cater for the small distance between brackets and radiator ends. In addition , with four segments panels can easily be fabricated to suit widths between brackets. Finally, our standard panel being, 550mm in height caters, without fabrication, for readiators 600mm high suiting some 70% of all radiators in the UK. For smaller or larger radiators fabrication to height is very easy.
Also in 1999, we commissioned a fitting video. This is supplied to contractors and is included in our DIY packs. The latter are in boxes of 10 or 20 panels which include special fixing tape. The video has made fitting much easier for our buyers. We were very conscious that panels should be fitted properly to provide maximum benefit.
Panels are fitted by many councils as a matter of course since 1993. Sometimes we are required to supply, fabricate and fit them; sometimes supply them fabricated to suit radiator heights with fixing tape appled to panels. Often they are installed when other heating works are undertaken or or as a standalone operation for energy efficiency.
We have been supported in regard to our Radmate DIY panel packs by Efficiency Advice Centres and Local Authorities throughout the UK. Work has been in regard to municipal, Council Housing and Sheltered Accommodation. We have also been involved in job creation schemes.
In June 2000 we obtained independent test results via the Energy Saving Trust from from (Stanger - part of Tarmac Group) which established that savings of around 12% applied of to - one Degree plus 2% savings.
